final week of class

In this final week of composition class, I would like to say that it has been fun to watch how my blogging and writing skills in general have changed. I have had fun blogging, and I would like to continue to do it in the future. I feel I need to stop procrastinating and doing the bare minimum to get by and time things out better so that I am not so rushed when it comes to deadlines. I have always procrastinated. My final project is not my best work by far, but I kept finding the same information in many different sources. It was actually hard to find new information. In the end I barely gathered enough to make it work. I think that my grammatical skills have improved. I also think that I learned how to better organize my work.

almost finished with composition

at this point I am tired of the whole process, and I still need to do some more research and editing of my paper. I am nervous that I will not do a great job. writing is definately not easy for me. the whole research process can sometimes be confusing to me. I like the editing part. the research and actually writing a research paper are the hard parts for me. I just know it would be so much easier if I were fresh out of high school and I remembered all of the little rules and such. being out of school for so long is definately playing a role in my having a hard time writing a paper.

unit 8

I am having difficulties with the whole writing process. writing is not in any way my forte, and if I never had to write a paper for academic purposes again I would probably be very happy. I am so unsure of myself. I would rather edit a paper that is already written than write something from scratch.

peer review process

I like the peer review process and at the same time I do not. I think that in some cases it can be good to get peer input, if the individual who is doing the review knows what they are doing. at the same time if the individual doing the reviewing does not know what they are doing the review process can be a bad thing. I had a peer review one time where it was all negative comments, and afterword I foung out that the individual did not know what they were talking about.

six weeks into composition class

well here we are in week six. this week has been particularly tuff for me. I was in the hospital with pneumonia for three days. I had a very severe case and they thought my lungs were going to collapse. my research has been going ok. hoping to catch up on all my late work this week during the time we have off.

prewriting techniques

so the two prewriting techniques that I would ordinarily use everyday would be brainstorming and free writing. I like free writing alot because I can write my ideas down. they may wander some but if I get them down on paper as they come to me. I can always go back and rewrite and correct spelling and grammar later. I can also rewrite to organize my ideas. brainstorming is actually the first part of the process. brainstorming helps with the things that I want to write about and how they are connected.

changes and difficulties

I am not really having any difficulties with school or at least not with this class. It actually seems like this stuff is getting easier to me. I am having issues with life in general. My car keeps breaking down. I am also having issues finding a job.
