peer review process

I like the peer review process and at the same time I do not. I think that in some cases it can be good to get peer input, if the individual who is doing the review knows what they are doing. at the same time if the individual doing the reviewing does not know what they are doing the review process can be a bad thing. I had a peer review one time where it was all negative comments, and afterword I foung out that the individual did not know what they were talking about.

six weeks into composition class

well here we are in week six. this week has been particularly tuff for me. I was in the hospital with pneumonia for three days. I had a very severe case and they thought my lungs were going to collapse. my research has been going ok. hoping to catch up on all my late work this week during the time we have off.

prewriting techniques

so the two prewriting techniques that I would ordinarily use everyday would be brainstorming and free writing. I like free writing alot because I can write my ideas down. they may wander some but if I get them down on paper as they come to me. I can always go back and rewrite and correct spelling and grammar later. I can also rewrite to organize my ideas. brainstorming is actually the first part of the process. brainstorming helps with the things that I want to write about and how they are connected.

changes and difficulties

I am not really having any difficulties with school or at least not with this class. It actually seems like this stuff is getting easier to me. I am having issues with life in general. My car keeps breaking down. I am also having issues finding a job.

advantages and disadvantages of online schooling

I do not know about anyone else, but for me being a single mom there are both advantages and disadvantages. some of the advantages include, being able to do the work from the comfort of home, or anywhere that an internet connection is available. I do not have to miss class if I am going to be traveling. I can do the work around my kids schedules. Some of the disadvantages are that my children do not understand that when I am in school, example in seminar I can not get up and do things for them. I need to pay attention. Another disadvantage is that if I do not understand something I can not just ask a question and get an awnser, I need to send an email and wait or wait for office hours. These are just some of the things that I have been dealing with while going to school online. I also almost forgot that sometimes I feel like time management between school work and home life can get a little crazy.

seems strange me setting up a blog. I did not even know what a blog really was before this class. well this is just a test post done in unit one
